Welcome to Mrs. Guilfoyle's Kindergarten

Welcome to Oak Valley Kindergarten!  My name is Renee Guilfoyle and I will be your child's teacher this year.  I began teaching in 1999, so have many years of experience (all at the kindergarten level!)  I received my bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1998 and in 2011 earned my Master's Degree from Concordia University, specializing in Early Childhood Education.  My husband, Sean, and I have 2 children (Brennan and Kaeli) who keep us very busy!  In my free time I enjoy shopping, walking, attending my children's sporting events and activities as well as going on family vacations.

At Oak Valley, we work hard to help develop self-discipline and good citizenship in all students.  Here are a few basic rules children are encouraged to follow:

1.     Follow directions

2.     Speak and listen nicely

3.     Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself

4.     Raise your hand and take turns to speak

5.     Stay in your seat or work place

6.     Use appropriate behavior in the halls, restrooms, cafeteria and playground

My goal is to help your child reach his/her greatest potential and achieve excellence and success through fun, developmentally appropriate activities.  With your support, we are going to make your child's year a fun, exciting and challenging experience!  Be looking for classroom updates and reminders in our Kindergarten Newsletter that is sent home monthly.
